# LinkedIn steps aren't running

> A LinkedIn step is waiting instead of running. The extension, the browser, or LinkedIn itself is holding it up.

LinkedIn steps run in your own browser through the extension, not on a server. If one is stuck, the cause is almost always local.

## Work through the checks

<Steps>
  <Step title="Check the extension is installed and signed in">
    Open the sender's **LinkedIn** tab. If it still shows **Install the extension**, add it and click **I've installed it**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check your browser is open">
    Steps queue until the browser is open with the extension online. The tab reads **Extension online** or **Extension offline**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check the LinkedIn account is still connected">
    A disconnected account stops every queued step. Reconnect it from the sender's **LinkedIn** tab.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check for a verification checkpoint">
    LinkedIn sometimes asks to verify the account, which pauses the queue and opens a verification page in your browser. Complete it there, then resume.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check the daily ceiling">
    **Safety limits** caps actions per day and per week. A step waits for tomorrow once the cap for its action is reached.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Good to know

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Does the extension need my LinkedIn password?">
    No. It works through the session your browser already holds, and disconnecting it never touches your LinkedIn account.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What's the difference between Manual and Auto?">
    **How it runs**, under **Safety limits**, decides whether queued actions send on their own. Start on **Manual** until you trust the sequence.
