# Preview a column's duplicate rows

> Report which rows a dedupe of this column would delete, without deleting anything. The first row holding each repeated value is kept, in the table's display order; blank cells are never duplicates. The returned record IDs are the losers, ready to hand to the bulk row delete, capped at its own 1000-row limit — duplicate_row_count carries the full number either way.

``record_ids`` are the rows that would GO, ordered as the grid shows
        them,

which is also the order the keeper rule reads: the first row holding
        each

repeated value survives. The caller deletes them through the ordinary
        bulk

delete, so dedupe inherits its cap and its undo window rather than

introducing a second way to remove rows.
